Police Warn Of Brazen Sexual Assault Suspect Who Attacked Motorist

Authorities are warning residents of an armed man who approached a vehicle and forced a driver to drive to a place where could assault her.

PASADENA, CA — Police are warning Los Angeles County residents about a violent sexual assault suspect who recently accosted a motorist with a knife.

The attack happened Saturday night just before 9 p.m. in the parking lot of a business at the corner of Foothill Boulevard and Sierra Madre Villa Avenue in Pasadena, according to police.

A woman was sitting in her unlocked, parked car at the time.

"The victim was sitting in her vehicle when a male suspect entered her car," according to Pasadena Police Department Lt. Tim Bundy. "The suspect threatened the victim with a knife and forced her to drive to another location where he sexually assaulted her. The victim managed to fend off the suspect and called 911."

According to police, the suspect immediately fled the area but not before he was captured on a surveillance camera.

Police suspect the attacker may be a transient. he is described as being approximately 30 to 40 years old, 6 feet tall and heavyset. He was last seen wearing a black face-covering, a gray hooded rain jacket, light blue jeans, black shoes, and was armed with a folding knife.

"The suspect also has a distinctive raspy, voice," added Bundy.

Police are asking for the community's help in identifying and finding the attacker. Anyone with information about the assault is urged to contact the Pasadena Police Department at 626-744-4241.
