- In an effort to improve supply chain bottlenecks across the country, The Port of Los Angeles is moving to a 24/7 operating schedule, announced The White House on Wednesday. The LA Port accounts for 40% of all containers entering the U.S. (The Hill)
- Here are five new Criminal Justice Laws in California that you should know about. Notable items include: officers must intercede if they witness the use of excessive force, raising officer's minimum age, and limiting the use of tear gas and rubber bullets. (Los Angeles Patch)
- Los Angeles officials announced a pilot program to create permanent affordable housing for survivors of domestic violence on Wednesday. As reported, 40% of people experiencing homelessness in LA are domestic violence survivors. (MyNewsLA.com)
- Street vendors rallied recently in front of LA City Hall. They are opposed to two measures making their way through the city council that they say would lead to high rates of criminal citations. They are worried the laws could displace some vendors. (KABC-TV)
- COVID hospitalizations in LA County are on the rise. County officials are encouraging pregnant women, one of the groups considered at risk, to get vaccinated and take precautions. (Los Angeles Patch)
