🎄 The Worst Christmas Songs?
Christmas is around the corner. Songs of the season are everywhere. However, some tunes are better than others. Last year, Rolling Stone compiled a list of the worst Christmas songs of all time. Which song is the one that is the worst in your book? So far, we have:
- NewSong, ‘The Christmas Shoes’ - 40%
- The Jackson 5, ‘I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus’ - 30%
- Seth MacFarlane and Sara Bareilles, ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’ - 10%
- Band Aid, ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ - 10%
- The Pussycat Dolls, ‘Santa Baby’ - 10%
📰 Here are the top stories in Los Angeles today:
1) There was a non-fatal shooting Saturday morning at “Lorena and Beswick streets, south of the 5 Freeway.” Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) arrived right around 4 a.m. Reportedly, “the victim was standing alone when a car drove up and began firing shots at him, striking the man several times before driving away.” At this time, the LAPD is treating the crime as gang-related. (The Eastsider LA)
2) A Friday car chase ended with a surrender at an East Los Angeles carport. The suspect had traveled through Bell, along the 10, and into South Gate. Officers believed they had the driver ready to give up in a parking lot, but the suspect managed to squeeze past the police cars – until the car turned into the carport. They’re now on the hook for “evading officers, driving recklessly, and allegedly attacking a peace officer.” (Fox)
3) Volunteers from Highly Favored came to Skid Row on Friday for a Backpack Giveaway. They handed out meals and backpacks stuffed with supplies, which were donated by the Nurses’ Union. Guests served included children. (NBC)
4) Seasonal Christmas tree lots are the hot tips this year for finding the festive decor you are looking for. Examples include Santa & Sons Christmas Trees at 12901 Burbank Boulevard and Mr. Jingles Christmas Trees at 1841 North Highland Avenue or 6333 West 3rd Street. The big box home improvement stores also have a nice selection, but do not wait too long to make the buy! (Patch)
5) If you want to drink where actor Walton Goggins goes for “mulled wine, eggnog, and a peppermint mocha espresso martini,” we have the insider information. On Friday, we learned that he favors the Capri Club at 4824 Vineland Avenue, Manuela at 907 East 3rd Street, and the Melrose Umbrella Co. at 7465 Melrose Avenue. But if you’re on the hunt for a Fromage Noir cocktail, you must head to Etta at 8801 Washington Boulevard. (The Hollywood Reporter)

- An Echo Park South neighbor says, "just FYI, the Edendale Post Office off of Alvarado and Glendale is closed. - They are understaffed. They think someone might show up to do small transactions, but as of right now, they are closed. You can pick up mail." (Nextdoor)
- Our Beachwood Canyon neighbor says that "BEAR THE DOG IS MISSING FOR 3 HOURS NOW! - I am posting for people from out of town. Their dog Bear got out of their rental home while they were away today. If you see Bear, please call 602.321.2922. She is very friendly!" (Nextdoor)
