SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed on Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, the region is set to get a much-needed cooldown this week after the weekend's record-breaking temperatures — the high on Saturday reached 99 degrees in Downtown Los Angeles, breaking the record set nearly a century ago.
