Teenage Boy Killed In Fiery SUV Crash In LA
A 15-year-old died after crashing through a liquor store in the Vermont Square area of Los Angeles, fire officials said.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A teenage boy died in a crash that sparked a fire at a liquor store in the Vermont Square area of Los Angeles early Sunday morning, authorities said.
The 15-year-old crashed into the store around 4 a.m. at 1359 W. 54th St., Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart reported. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Initially, arson investigators and the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports that the victim was a passenger in the vehicle and that an another person was able to get out safely before firefighters arrived, Stewart said.

It took 34 firefighters under a half hour to extinguish the fire ignited by the crash. The fire was out by 4:28 a.m., according to Stewart.
