Tow Truck Driver Hit, Killed by Vehicle on 5 Freeway In LA

LOS ANGELES -- A man was fatally struck by a vehicle on the Golden State (5) Freeway near Griffith Park, and the investigation was continuing today.

Paramedics sent to the southbound 5 Freeway near Zoo Drive about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Information on his identity was not immediately available.

According to reports from the scene, the man was a tow truck driver who was hit by a vehicle. The circumstances of the crash were under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
