Here are the top five stories today in Los Angeles:

  1. Windsor Hills Crash Update: Over the weekend, we learned that the 37-year-old alleged driver in the crash on Slauson and La Brea Avenue is reportedly a traveling nurse from Texas. On Sunday, we were told that she was “released from a hospital and is now in custody at the Century Regional Detention Center” on a $9 million bail. We learned on Monday that she "has been charged with six counts of murder and five counts of vehicular manslaughter." (Patch, CBS, Daily Mail)
  2. The 6th Street Bridge, which has been a magnet for illegal behavior, will not immediately receive “$700,000 in funding from the city of Los Angeles to remove graffiti and provide other maintenance.” On Friday, the City Council sent the issue to the Budget and Finance Committee. There were concerns that too much money is being spent on one bridge while other areas are neglected. (NBC)
  3. Exchanged Hype opened in Tito’s Plaza back in February. The high-end sneaker store was immediately targeted by thieves. We learned on Sunday that the store is shutting down brick-and-mortar operations after another attempted break-in. “I don’t feel safe to be here anymore, and it’s just sad,” the 20-year-old entrepreneur owning this business said. (KTLA)
  4. Los Angeles marijuana buyers have been called “indoor cannabis chauvinists.” A Monday report explains that buyers of the (now legal) weed are turning up their noses on NorCal’s outdoor-grown strains and instead favor SoCal’s indoor flora. “If you want to go buy the Gucci or Prada of cannabis in Los Angeles, you're not going to go to Melrose or Rodeo Drive. . . . you're gonna be going south of the 10 in Boyle Heights, to the back of a Food 4 Less.” Prices range from “$70 an eighth” to “$100 a gram.” (KCRW)
  5. Mark your calendars! The defending Super Bowl champions, the Rams, are getting ready for the football season. The first pre-season game is on Saturday, and ABC will carry it! In fact, ABC will carry all the pre-season games for the team. Saturday, you can see the Rams take on the Chargers at SoFi. (ABC)
