TV And Film Actor Arrested For Series Of Rapes: LAPD
Police allege a 52-year-old actor used his star power and Ivy League status to lure victims he then violently raped.

LOS ANGELES, CA — An actor and screenwriter known for his roles in films, Broadway, and TV shows such as "Boardwalk Empire" and "NCIS" has been arrested in connection with a series of violent rapes, and police in Los Angeles are seeking additional victims.
Gabriel Olds, a 52-year-old New York native and Yale University graduate, with acting credits going back decades, is accused of sexually assaulting three women, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to police, Olds used his industry cache and Ivy League status to lure women onto dates that turned violent. The first victim accused him of rape in January of 2023, and two other women came forward with similar allegations. Authorities then charged Olds with seven felony sexual assault charges in July, and he was arrested near the area of Norway Lane and Norman Place in Brentwood Wednesday morning.

Olds was charged with three counts of forcible rape, one count of rape of an unconscious person, sodomy by use of force, assault with intent to rape and injuring a spouse, girlfriend or child's parent, according to court records. Patch could not reach Olds for comment.
"Investigators have identified three women that Olds assaulted, as well as two additional women who reported lesser violent sexual conduct," according to an LAPD statement. "Due to Olds' travels as an actor, detectives believe there may be more victims nationwide that have yet to come forward."

According to LAPD detectives, Olds gave women a false sense of security at first and later turned violent without seeking their consent.
"We heard the same story again and again," LAPD Special Assault Sector Supervisor Detective Brent Hopkins said in a statement. "Mr. Olds started off charming but then used brutal violence to carry out these rapes. Some of these survivors suffered in silence for years before finding the strength to speak up. Now that he's off the streets, we want to make sure everyone has a chance to be heard."
Several women reported meeting him via dating apps. Olds was being held on $3.5 million bail.
The alleged attacks occurred between January and September of 2013.
Olds, a graduate of Yale University, has worked as an actor and screenwriter since the early 1990s, police said. According to his IMDB profile, he played Pat Robertson in the 2021 film "The Eyes of Tammy Faye" and had roles in shows such as "Party of Five," Private Practice," "Law & Order" and 2023's "The Rookie: Feds."
