🎄 The Worst Christmas Songs?
Christmas is around the corner. Songs of the season are everywhere. However, some tunes are better than others. Last year, Rolling Stone compiled a list of the worst Christmas songs of all time. We asked which song is the one that is the worst in your book. You responded. NewSong, ‘The Christmas Shoes’ and The Jackson 5, ‘I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus’ tied at 33.3% each. Next came Seth MacFarlane and Sara Bareilles, ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’ with 16.7%. Band Aid, ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ had 11.13% of your votes, and The Pussycat Dolls, ‘Santa Baby’ got 5.6% of votes. Thank you for participating!

Here are the top stories in Los Angeles today:

1) On Monday, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) assisted a hiker at Wilbur Tampa Park. “The woman had attempted to climb up the near vertical 80 foot cliff by grasping a water pipe, but became stranded in loose soil twenty feet from the top.” Using her cellphone to call for help, she alerted firefighters. They first made sure she wouldn’t slip down by placing her in a harness. “Additional firefighters swiftly deployed a two-line rope system to safely hoist her to the clifftop trail.” She wasn't hurt and didn’t need ambulance services. (LAFD)

2) On Tuesday, the LAFD was on hand for a “behavioral emergency” at the 900 West Olympic Boulevard Ritz-Carlton. A man was climbing outside the building and unfurled a banner saying, “Support Women. Not Abortion.” The man surrendered to authorities around 9:35 a.m. (CBS, KTLA)

3) L.A.’s Exposition Park is the new home of the two-day Skyline Festival. Tickets will go on sale Thursday. The event itself takes place on February 25 and 26 for 21-and-over guests. So far, organizers have been mum on the lineup. Earlier this year, the Skyline Festival took place at “Skylight Row in Downtown . . . with performances by Chris Lake, Carl Cox, Green Velvet, Marco Carola B2B Loco Dice, Ms. Mada, Oza, Sonny Fodera, Deborah De Luca, Noizu and more.” (Redland Daily Facts)

4) The Whiskey A Go Go at 8901 Sunset Boulevard is getting a digital billboard. We learned on Friday that the current static billboard will be replaced with a “double-sided billboard with a 1,000-square-foot digital side and a 500-square-foot internally lit side.” The sign’s bulk was initially a sticking point, but designers changed it to combine “the lightness of an illuminated lantern with the elegant folds of Japanese origami.” (WeHoVille)

5) Did you see the more than 30 officers from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) running from Hollywood to the Grove on Monday? They were part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, a fundraiser for the Special Olympics. The event’s high visibility also makes it an excellent occasion to spread awareness of the cause.
