Woman Fatally Struck By Car In Long Beach

Police said the woman was not walking in a crosswalk, and died of her injuries at the hospital.

LONG BEACH, CA — A woman was fatally struck by a car in Long Beach Wednesday night, according to the Long Beach Police Department. The accident happened in the 300 block of East Wardlow Road around 10:30 p.m.

Police said the woman was not walking in a crosswalk when she was hit, and was taken to a hospital where she died. The victim's name was withheld until relatives could be notified.

The driver remained at the scene and was not arrested.

"Alcohol, drugs, and distracted driving are not believed to have been a factor in the collision," police said in a statement.
