Memorial Day Services Return To Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach
The Memorial Day ceremony in Seal Beach will be free to the public, and reservations are not required.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach will hold its Memorial Day ceremony at its World War II submarine memorial for the first time since the pandemic began.
The ceremony at the United States National Submarine Memorial West will kick off at 11 a.m. on May 30 and will feature speeches from local community leaders. Joe Koch, a former World War II submarine crew member, will give the ceremony's keynote address, U.S. Navy officials said.
Naval officials will have a "tolling the boats" ceremony during the Memorial Day program, where a bell is rung 52 times to mark the number of submarines lost by the U.S. during World War II.
