Last Chance: Seedling Sale, Egg Hunts & Camp Aid
A financial aid deadline at midnight, an energy-saving opportunity, a chances to hunt up eggs will be gone if you don't mind the date!
We all do it. Forget to mark our calendars for upcoming Little League sign-ups, prom tickets or local business expos. There are so many events and opportunities in Los Altos that is can be hard to keep tabs on them all.
The following is a list of deadlines coming up. Some will save you money. Some are just for fun. Take a look before it's your last chance.

CAMPS
April 6: Midnight Deadline to apply for financial assistance to to attend great camps conducted by Galileo Learning (low-to-middle-income families): Camp Galileo (pre-K to rising 5th graders), Galileo Summer Quest (rising 5th-8th graders), Tech Summer Camps (rising 4th-8th graders) and Chabot Space & Science Camps (rising 3rd-7th graders)

April 15: Early Bird Registration deadline for Golden Eagle Sports Camp, for ages 5-13 held at Los Altos High School or Homestead High School. Early bird registration means a $20 discount; additional discount applied for full pre-payment.
April 22: Spartan Sports Camp offers a free basketball-focused clinic at Mountain View High School 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., to demonstrate what its new summer sports camp is is like. Open to kids in grades 3-9 and will be run by Mountain View High School coaches and student-athletes. A free pizza lunch for those who attend.
DULL BUT NECESSARY
April 17: Deadline to file federal and state 2011 taxes (as if you didn't know)
April 22: Deadline for new participants to the High Energy Homes program. This is a hard deadline. Once it's over, it's over ... and these deadlines tend to be hard to find on the websites (for example, did you know the Energy Upgrade California program ended March 3? Exactly.)
FUN OR INFORMATIVE
April 7:
- Egg Hunt, plus activities Hillview Soccer Field, Activities begin at 9:30 a.m., egg hunt at 10 a.m. sharp, up to age 10. Children's performer Oklin Bloodworth performs at 10:15 a.m. The new Teen Egg Launch begins at10:45 a.m., for ages 11-17.
- Immanuel Lutheran Church throws open the doors for families across Los Altos, Mountain View, Cupertino and Sunnyvale to make crafts, play games and go on an Easter Egg hunt, 1-3 p.m. 1715 Grant Road, Los Altos.
- Hoppin' Hounds, Los Altos Hills' annual romp for pooches and their companions in the Byrne Reserve gets underway at 9 a.m. Bring your hound to hunt for dog treats hidden by thoughtful volunteers. Gather at the adjacent
April 14: If you missed the heirloom tomato sale at Foothill College last Saturday because of the steady rain, you've got another chance at quality tomatoes during Collective Root's seedling sale, at DeMartini's Orchard, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. , 66 N. San Antonio Road.
