• Los Altos Troop 31 welcomes new Eagle Scouts (losaltosonline.com) — Six members of Los Altos Troop 31 have earned the prestigious Eagle Scout rank, completing service projects that benefit organizations tied to the Los Altos community and nearby cities. From improving Deer Hollow Farm and Bubb Elementary’s AYSO shed to building a homeless shelter unit, their projects showcase local leadership, craftsmanship, and long-term community impact.
   

• Los Altos girls basketball gets late winner over Mountain View (losaltosonline.com) — Los Altos High’s girls basketball team edged rival Mountain View thanks to senior guard Ella McFarlane’s late game-winner and her milestone 1,000th career point. The Eagles, now 10-2 and unbeaten in league, leaned on tough defense and resilience in another close finish. Local fans can see them at home tonight at 7 p.m. against Fremont.
   

• You can buy Steve Jobs' bow ties, desk and other bits of Apple history at this auction (latimes.com subscription) — A piece of Los Altos history is headed to the auction block: Steve Jobs’ bedroom desk from his family’s Los Altos home, where early Apple-1 computers were assembled in the garage, is for sale. It’s part of a larger RR Auction collection featuring Apple’s first check, early financial documents, a prototype Apple-1 board, and personal items like Jobs’ bow ties and music tapes.
