Registration Opens For Stanford Medicine's Upcoming 2017 Health Matters Event

South Bay community members are encouraged to sign up for a May 20 day of free health talks and interactive exhibits. Space is limited.

SOUTH BAY, CA -- Free registration has opened for Stanford Medicine’s annual Health Matters community day.

Health Matters, one of the more anticipated public healthcare forums on the Peninsula, has grown to more than 1,500 attendees, and community members are encouraged to register early due to space limitations.

This year, Stanford Medicine will host the event from 9 am to 2 pm May 20 at the Li Ka Shing Center on the Stanford Campus 291 Campus Dr., on the Stanford University School of Medicine Campus.

Community members are invited to join world-renowned Stanford Medicine faculty, physicians, and healthcare experts as they share the latest medical knowledge that is changing lives for the better.

Participants can expect health talks, an outdoor health pavilion, and a med school morning for teenagers – all for free. This year’s talks will address heart health, mindfulness, obesity and weight loss, reclaiming your sleep, vision science and prescription drug addiction.

Visitors can also enjoy the Health Pavilion, a collection of exhibits featuring interactive, hands-on attractions and activities for the whole family. Visitors can climb aboard the Stanford Life Flight helicopter, cuddle up with canines from the Pet Assisted Wellness (PAWs) program and get answers to health questions from a variety of Stanford experts.
