Student of the Month: LAHS' Sparsha Saxena
With four AP/honors classes and a full complement of student clubs she enjoys, this LAHS teen also has played varsity tennis since she was a sophomore and writes for the Talon.
Congratulations to Los Altos High's March 2012 Student of the Month, Sparsha Saxena. The designates this honor to a student from one or more of its high schools each month and provides the text of its nomination to Patch. Johnson was honored at the Mar. 12 meeting of the Board of Trustees.
is proud to present Sparsha Saxena as student of the month. Sparsha is largely involved in numerous clubs on campus. One of her biggest involvements is Haven Helpers, the club she started. In Haven Helpers, groups of students go to Pilgrim Haven, a retirement home in Los Altos, to spend time with, and help out, elderly people.

Sparsha is also very involved in student life in Los Altos. She has been playing tennis for the Eagles since her freshman year and made varsity as a sophomore. She plans to finish out by playing all four years. She also writes for the Talon, the school newspaper.
Sparsha is also very dedicated to academics. Not only has she taken four AP/honors classes this year, but she has also served on the education committee of the WASC planning team. With the WASC education committee, she helps analyze how each department teaches, and what can be improved. She is also part of the National Honor Society and the California Scholastic Federation.

Last summer, Sparsha volunteeered at , a soccer camp for underprivileged kids. She spent many hours helping run games and activities, as well as practicing her Spanish. In the futue, Sparsha hopes to major in Chemistry of Spanish. Though she is unsure of what school she wants to go, we are confident she will excel at any school she chooses! Congratulations, Sparsha!
