Two-Week Closure For Section Of El Camino Real After Los Altos Fire
A southbound stretch of the road will remain closed after a fire damaged a building on Christmas, requiring the structure to be demolished.

LOS ALTOS, CA — Work to demolish a large commercial building in Los Altos will keep southbound lanes of El Camino Real closed between San Antonio Road and Sherwood Avenue for at least two weeks, according to CalTrans.
The lengthy closure follows a three-alarm blaze that gutted a 20,000-square-foot building over Christmas, drawing a large emergency response to the area throughout the day. Crews from the Santa Clara County Fire Department worked with colleagues from Mountain View and Palo Alto to keep the fire from spreading.
No injuries were reported during the fire, and a full investigation into what sparked the blaze continues.
