Los Gatos at Work: The Mmoon Empanadas

Editor's note: The following is an occasional series highlighting the people who work in Los Gatos.
After opening next to Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company in the summer of 2012, the Moon Empanadas shop is doing great, recently consolidating its San Jose operations to the Los Gatos location at 81 W. Main St.

We stopped by on Thursday to eat lunch, but we were thinking about dinner for four so we ordered the eight-empanada package for $17. With tax, the purchase of the delicious beef and chicken turnovers came out to $18.49.

Then we ordered the "kind of hungry" meal for this editor that included two empanadas, chips and a drink. Very satisfying. The price of our lunch came out to be $7.88.

We were helped by friendly Los Gatos Patch readers John Ross Tucci, who works as a supervisor at the restaurant and Jasmine Macias, who described her job title as a "front-of-home" employee.
