Los Gatos Police Chief To Resign

LOS GATOS, CA — Los Gatos Police Chief Peter Decena will step down from the role on Sept. 16, the city announced Friday.
The town did not provide a reason for Decena's resignation in a news release, but noted that he had served the town "with distinction."
Decena has served as chief since 2018, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to Los Gatos, he was the police chief of San Jose State University. From 1982 to 2010, Decena was a police captain at the San Jose Police Department.

An interim police chief will be named while a new chief is recruited.
“I am confident in the Department to continue our community policing values during this leadership transition," Mayor Marico Sayoc said in a news release.
