Motorist Rescued Off Highway 9 Embankment: SCC Fire

The driver of the vehicle whose identity is undisclosed was transported to an area hospital, Santa Clara Co. Fire reported.

LOS GATOS, CA — A driver of a vehicle that careened quite a distance over an embankment off Highway 9 near State Route 35 was rescued by the Santa Clara County Fire crews Wednesday night, officials announced Thursday.

County fire indicated it responded with crews to the incident called in at 9:13 p.m. and sent ropes down the steep bank to reach the patient, who was consequently hospitalized with minor injuries. The person's identity is undisclosed.

The rescue involved 14 personnel from county EMS, Cal Fire and the California Highway Patrol.
