SC Co. Election Workers Turn Voting Reg Into National Night Out
Santa Clara Co. election workers will participate in a multitude of National Night Out events to spur voter registration, the most ever.

LOS GATOS, CA — The Santa Clara County Registrar’s Office will be attending 10 National Night Out events Tuesday evening, with election specialists providing voter registration services as well as education on the new Voter’s Choice Act experience.
The events will take place in various areas including Los Gatos, Campbell, San Jose Milpitas. The Gilroy event has been postponed to Oct. 1 given the July 28 mass shooting tragedy.
“We look forward to participating in the National Night Out events every year,” Registrar Shannon Bushey said. “It is great to see communities and law enforcement come together, and this year it is also a great opportunity to inform our residents about the exciting changes the Voter’s Choice Act is bringing to Santa Clara County.”

National Night Out is an annual event that occurs the first Tuesday in August. It is a crime-prevention event that promotes police and community partnerships in various neighborhoods around the country. By encouraging the community to work with law enforcement, it strengthens neighborhood spirit and heightens crime-prevention awareness.
National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and is co-sponsored by police agencies throughout Santa Clara County. The Registrar of Voters’ Office will staff booths at 10 different neighborhood events this month — the most National Night Out events the office has attended at once.
