William Shatner Beams Over Gilroy's Decency After Lost Wallet Returned
The Star Trek celebrity and Priceline pitchman thanked the fruit stand owners and local police in a tweet.

GILROY, CA — He's traveled the galaxies as Captain James T. Kirk and sent countless others off to seek out new life and civilizations as a Priceline pitchman.
But it’s William Shatner’s recent trip to Gilroy that’s now making headlines after the 91-year-old actor left his wallet at a famous fruit stand — which promptly shipped the wallet back to its celebrity owner.

Shatner scooped up four baskets of chilled cherries and two dollars’ worth of corn from Fruit Barn Gilroy, a destination for many visiting the world's garlic capital, ABC 7 reports.

Gary Tognetti, who owns of B & T Farms, told ABC 7 that Shatner visited his fruit stand July 20. Tognetti contacted a police officer he’s friends with to arrange for the return of the lost wallet.
Gilroy Police Department officer Mark Tarasco said he reached Shatner through his agent, but instead of getting the celebrity treatment, Captain Kirk got a mild grilling.

"We were vague about what we found and we wanted to hear them correlate, you know, not just the wallet, but the contents as well," he told the television station.
The fruit stand owners and local law enforcement got a thank you tweet from the celebrity after his wallet was mailed to his Beverly Hills home.
"I would like to thank Gary and Natalie of B&T Farms @TfarmsB for their extreme honesty in returning my lost wallet," Shatner tweeted.
"They are obviously good citizens. I would also like to thank Officer Mark Tarasco and Sergeant John Ballard from the @GilroyPD."
