One person suspected of driving under the influence of drugs was arrested at a sobriety and driver's license checkpoint set up Friday night in Malibu, authorities said.

A total of 2,376 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, which was set up on Pacific Coast Highway at Carbon Canyon Road, said Sgt. Phillip Brooks of the Los Angeles County sheriff's Malibu/Lost Hills Station.

Deputies screened 2,235 drivers, seven of whom were given field sobriety tests, Brooks said. Six people were caught driving with suspended or revoked licenses and 25 drivers were nabbed for driving without any license at all, he said.

Two people were arrested for outstanding warrants and one motorist was cited for having an open alcoholic beverage container, Brooks said.

Nine drivers were cited for "miscellaneous driving offenses,'' he said.

Five vehicles were impounded for 30 days and four were impounded on one-day holds, Brooks said.
