Beloved SoCal Restaurant Icon Dies: Reports

"His love for the ocean, for people, and for great food were woven into every establishment he created," according to The Malibu Times.

LOS ANGELES — Southern California restaurateur Bob Morris died April 13, according to reports. He was 81, FOX 11 reported.

Morris developed and ran more than 25 eateries including Paradise Cove Beach Café, the original Gladstones, The Jetty, Malibu Sea Lion, and RJ’s the Rib Joint, according to The Malibu Times.

“His love for the ocean, for people, and for great food were woven into every establishment he created,” the Times reported.

Morris grew up in Los Angeles and his passion for the restaurant business was inspired by his uncle, who managed Jack’s at the Beach on the Ocean Park Pier, according to the Times.

Morris is survived by his wife, Kerry Edlund Morris, and their children and grandchildren, the Times reported.
