Vegetation Fire In Malibu Under Control: Officials
Forward progress on the fire was stopped as of 1:15 p.m. Friday, officials said.

MALIBU, CA — Fire crews on Friday afternoon put a stop to a brush fire on Newton Canyon Road in Malibu. According to the City of Malibu and fire officials, the fire impacted about two acres of land.
As of 2:30 p.m., the fire was reported by officials to be mostly under control. Crews would stay on site to mop up hotspots and reinforce containment lines, officials said.
Forward progress on the fire was stopped around 1:15 p.m. No injuries had been reported as of writing.

The city said the fire was just north of Tunnel 1 on Kanan Dume Road.
