Hazardous Beach Conditions Expected With Malibu Storm
As the Los Angeles area continues to see heavy rain, Malibu beaches will have dangerous conditions and big waves.

MALIBU, CA — Malibu beaches will have hazardous conditions as Los Angeles is doused with rain and stormy weather.
Heavy rains are expected throughout Los Angeles County reaching rates of 0.5-0.75 inches per hour and up to 1 inch per hour at times, according to the National Weather Service. Overnight, some mountains and hills will receive as much as 8 inches of rain.
Thunderstorms and heavy winds are expected through Tuesday, according to NWS.

The stormy weather will create dangerous beach conditions in the area, including heavy surf, large waves, intense rip currents, beach erosion, storm debris in water and potential flooding, according to the city of Malibu.
Ocean contact is always discouraged within 72 hours of rainfall especially near creeks and storm drains, which carry large amounts of bacteria, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
