Malibu City Hall Will Start Accepting Mail-In Ballots Starting Next Week

The drop-off box will be available until 5:30 PM, Monday, Nov. 7.

MALIBU, CA -- With the Malibu General Municipal Election coming up on Tuesday, Nov. 8, the city will have a secure drop-off box for Vote by Mail ballots at City Hall starting on Tuesday, Oct. 11. The drop-off box will be available until 5:30 PM, Monday, Nov. 7.

“Malibu residents care deeply about issues that impact our Nation, our State and our Community, so we want to do everything possible to make it convenient for residents to participate in the election and make their voices heard,” Mayor Lou La Monte said.

In May 2015, the Malibu City Council voted to consolidate the City’s General Municipal Election with the statewide general election in November of even years in an effort to increase voter participation.

The Council urges all eligible Malibu voters to visit the City’s elections web page at www.MalibuCity.org/Elections for information on important dates, voter registration, Vote by Mail ballots, and candidates.

Three City Council seats will be open and are currently held by Joan House, Skylar Peak, and John Sibert. The nomination period closed Aug. 12, 2016. The following is a complete list of qualified candidates as their names will appear on the ballot: Jennifer Blue deNicola, Rick Mullen, Skylar Peak, Carl Randall, Laureen Sills, and Jefferson "Zuma Jay" Wagner.
