Malibu Fire Map: See Franklin Fire Perimeter, Evacuation Areas
The Franklin Fire broke out late Monday night and exploded across the Malibu hills amid raging Santa Ana winds.

MALIBU, CA — The Santa Ana wind-driven Franklin Fire in broke out late Monday night and exploded to more than 2,700-acres by Tuesday afternoon, threatening homes in Malibu.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department released a map showing the perimeter of the fast-moving fire and the neighborhoods under evacuation as the fire spreads.
As of 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, several communities were under mandatory evacuation orders, and several more are in evacuation warning zones, meaning they should be prepared to leave on a moment's notice. Pepperdine University has issued a shelter in place directive.

Evacuation Orders:
- South of Piuma Road, north of the Pacific Ocean coastline, east of Puerco Canyon Road/Corral Canyon Park, west of Los Flores Canyon Road
- Between the Pacific Ocean coastline and Tuna Canyon Park to the west of Tuna Canyon Road
Evacuation Warnings:
- East of Trancas Canyon Road and Kanan Dune Road, west of Topanga Canyon Blvd/Surfview Drive, south of Mulholland Highway, north of Evacuation Order boundary. Includes Topanga Zone 8 and 10
Shelter in Place:
Per Pepperdine University, the Shelter in Place protocol for the campus was activated and all members of the campus community are to follow instructions from University officials
