MALIBU, CA — Malibu residents will be expected to cut water use to only the essentials on Wednesday and Thursday for water infrastructure maintenance.

From 2 p.m. Wednesday through 2 p.m. Thursday, residents will need to restrict all water use to only essential drinking and sanitation. Residents are advised to turn off landscape irrigation and not fill swimming pools.

A public works project will impact local water supplies, according to the city of Malibu. Los Angeles County Waterworks was working on capital improvements in Malibu that was expected to start in March 2022 and last through January 2023, which would include the installation of a new 30-inch water main in the area.
