Malibu Road Reopened After Rockslide
A stretch of state Route 73, Decker Road, reopened after a rockslide closed the roadway for weeks.

MALIBU, CA — A stretch of state Route 73, Decker Road, reopened Friday after a rockslide prompted a nearly month-long closure.
Decker Road was closed in both directions between Pacific Coast (1) Highway and Encinal Canyon Road starting Oct. 11 due to a rockslide. Caltrans crews on Friday finished stabilizing the slope above the roadway, installing wire mesh and hanging cable on the slope to prevent future slides.
Great news! State Route 23 (Decker Rd.) is now OPEN to traffic in both directions between State Route 1 (PCH) & Encinal Canyon Rd. The rock slide from Oct. 11 was cleared, the slope stabilized & wire mesh & cable hung from anchors at the top of the slope to prevent future slides. pic.twitter.com/T1PfGHR7uR
