Skate Park Construction Set To Begin In Malibu Next Month

Construction of Malibu's long-awaited permanent skate park is set to begin next month.

MALIBU, CA — Construction of Malibu's long-awaited permanent skate park is set to begin next month after the City Council recently approved $4.1 million for its construction.

The 12,500 square-foot skate park will feature stairs, rails, ledges, banks, a flow bowl, quarter pipes, spine, extensions and waterfalls, with features available for skaters of all skill levels, according to the city.

The design, guided by extensive public input collected in 2020 and 2021, was overseen by California Skateparks, a firm specializing in the design and construction of skateparks and action sports facilities. C.S. Legacy Construction will begin building the facility in April.
