MALIBU, CA — At the 'Hit a Triple' event on Saturday, October 1, the City and its water partners offer incentives and free classes to help Malibu residents continue their efforts to conserve water.
- Rain Barrel Pickup: 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Register to reserve up to two free 50-gallon rain barrels that can collect what nature provides and use it for your outdoor irrigation. Register online at www.sbesc.com or call 310-371-4633.
Smart Gardening Workshop: 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM

- In this advanced class you'll learn about organic gardening, landscaping with native and drought tolerant plants, and environmental ways to control pests. Backyard compost bins and worm compost bins will be available to purchase.www.SmartGardening.com.
Smart Sprinkler Exchange: 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
- Exchange your old sprinkler controller or timer for a new smart sprinkler controller and weather sensor that can help reduce outdoor water use by up to 30%. Attendees must pre-register, attend a 20-minute orientation at 11:30 AM (bring current water bill), and have a non-weather-based irrigation controller to exchange. All three events will all be held at Malibu City Hall, 23825 Stuart Ranch Road, in the Multipurpose Room.
