The group the Malibu Agricultural Society has been working with the city of Malibu to pass a resolution against rodenticides.

Pavilions in Malibu is the latest business to pull all rat poison from its shelves.

"The product has been pulled," Carlos Illingworth of Pavilion's parent company, Vons, a Safeway Company, told Malibu Patch.

Other stores that have pulled rat poison include Malibu Hardware, CVS Pharmacy, Malibu Ranch Market, A&B Plumbing and Ralphs.

"This covers all merchants in Malibu," said Kian Schulman, secretary of the Malibu Agricultural Society. "We intend now to extend the campaign to large landowners and businesses."

The Malibu Agricultural Society has also been working with the city of Malibu for the passage of a resolution banning all rodenticide from Malibu stores.

The group was recently recognized by State Sen. Fran Pavley's office for their work to protect wildlife in the Santa Monica Mountains.
