Residents Must Conserve Water This Week During System Work In Malibu: Officials

MALIBU, CA — Malibu residents were asked to conserve water beginning Monday evening while crews complete repairs to the water system

The Los Angeles County Waterworks District 29 began performing "the second phase of system work" beginning at 8 p.m. Monday. The work will continue into Wednesday afternoon, according to the city.

"Water service will not be interrupted, but customers in Malibu are asked to conserve water during this period to help maintain system stability," reads a city statement. "Please stop all outdoor water use. Limit indoor water use to essential needs only, such as cooking and bathing."

Residents will be notified when the work is finished, city officials said.

Officials did not specify the nature of the work being completed. A similar notice went out two weeks ago regarding an earlier phase of system work.
