MALIBU, CA — Pacific Coast Highway closures are scheduled to start Monday for Southern California Gas Company construction in Malibu.

Starting Monday, Pacific Coast Highway will see overnight closures between Big Rock Drive and Tuna Canyon Road, according to CalTrans. The right northbound and southbound lanes of PCH will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for 40 days. PCH will be limited to one lane in each direction from Big Rock Drive to Tuna Canyon Road.

"Residents and businesses located near the freeway may experience noise, vibrations and dust associated with construction activities," CalTrans said.

SoCalGas will relocate two gas lines on PCH — one 261-foot line of 8-inch steel and another 307-foot line. The construction will require digging a trench, which workers will cover with a steel plate during the day.

The relocations are necessary for CalTrans' slope restoration project in the area.
