SR-23 Will See Lane Closures This Week

MALIBU, CA — State Route 23 in the Santa Monica Mountains will be subjected to lane closures this week due to a construction project.

Caltrans crews will perform pavement work on Decker Road/Westlake Boulevard as follows:

• May 12-19 — the southbound lane of SR-23 will be closed just south of Mulholland Highway, with one-way reversing traffic control for the duration of construction
• May 20-22 — the southbound lane of SR-23 will be closed just north of Mulholland Highway, with one-way reversing traffic control for the duration of construction

Temporary portable traffic signals will be in place at the closure points. Crews will conduct traffic control from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Caltrans said.

This work is part of an emergency repair project on an 8.7-mile stretch of SR-23 to address damages that occurred during last year's winter storms, Caltrans said.
