Malibu Triathlon Announces Celebrity Competitors: Trixie Mattel, Diplo And More
Organizers have announced competitors in the Malibu Triathlon's Celebrity Division.

MALIBU, CA — After a down-to-the-wire complication that threatened to cancel the Malibu Triathlon, the annual swim-bike-run is officially on — and that means that a parade of celebrities will test their athleticism this weekend.
Organizers on Wednesday announced some of the famous participants will will participate in the race's Celebrity Division including headlining DJ/producer Diplo and drag queen superstar Trixie Mattel.
Other celeb competitors include actors Chace Crawford, Daniela Ruah, Jesse Metcalfe and Timothy Olyphant, former "Bachelorette" contestant Ben Higgins, and former White House chef ChefRush.

The Celebrity Division race consists of a half-mile swim, 9.6-mile adjusted bike ride and 4-mile run. It kicks off at 7 a.m. on Oct. 1 at Zuma Beach.
“We’re so excited for this year’s Celebrity Division participants to compete in the ultimate physical fitness test,” race director Brennan Lindner said. “We’re grateful to each and every one of them, as well as the Malibu community in hosting and supporting this event, for joining us to raise funds for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.”

Saturday, Sept. 30. 7 a.m.
- Super League Triathlon Championship Series
- Eliminator format. 3 x 300 m swim, 4.6 km bike, 1 km run
- Individual, Corporate Challenge and Relay Olympic Distance Triathlon
- 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
Sunday, Oct. 1, 7 a.m.
- Celebrity Division Classic Distance Triathlon
- 0.5-mile swim, 17-mile bike, 4-mile run
- Individual, Corporate Challenge and Relay Classic Distance Triathlon
- 0.5-mile swim, 17-mile bike, 4-mile run
