MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Manhattan Beach photographer and former USA TODAY tech guy Jefferson Graham couldn't help but notice the aggressive waves by the Manhattan Beach Pier, and rushed over to capture it on his morning camera of choice, the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

"I bumped the zoom all the way," noted Graham, "which made the waves look just a little larger than usual, and edited the photo in the free Adobe Lightroom Mobile app." The app darkened the sky a touch, and made the colors a little richer.

The end result: "Choppy." Thursday, 1/28/21.
