'Dialogues On Race' Held By Concerned Citizens Of Manhattan Beach
Manhattan Beach resident leads group discussion on race, inclusivity, how to make Manhattan Beach better for all. Join monthly meetings.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A Manhattan Beach resident has formed a "community-led group" to "partner to build community and country that better reflect our values — for ourselves, our families and our neighbors," according to organizer Mich Levy. "Concerned Citizens of Manhattan Beach: Dialogues on Race" is gearing up for another round of free educational events and nonpartisan discussion, with once-a-month programs beginning in February on the 9th at 6 p.m. The group, for anyone connected to Manhattan Beach who is interested in the well-being and dignified treatment of all people, meets virtually the second Tuesday of the month through July 13 from 6-7:30 p.m.
Said Levy, "In light of recent events nationally and locally, are you concerned about our children inheriting legacies of racism or indifference? Do the demographics of your neighborhood reflect your values? Who lives in MB and who doesn't? What barriers exist to having a more diverse community? Are all of our residents and guests treated with the same respect?" These are a few of the topics being explored by CCMB.
"We can foster the well-being and dignified treatment of all people in Manhattan Beach by acting on our commitments to connection and equality," said Levy. "Together, in the place we live, we can learn to build the multi-cultural democracy we envision."
