MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.
From June 27 to July 3 there were:
- 777 calls for service
- 19 arrests
- 19 traffic collisions
- 43 crime reports taken

- On June 29, a MBPD Sergeant stopped three bicyclists for vehicle code violations in the 800 block of Marine Avenue. Two suspects attempted to flee after briefly stopping but were detained a short distance away. Both were arrested on suspicion of resisting, delaying and obstructing a police officer.
- On June 29, police received a report of an assault/battery at Sepulveda Boulevard and Artesia Boulevard. The victim told police a man attacked him and struck him in the face while he was near Chase Bank. The suspect left the scene screaming racial slurs at the victim. Police located the suspect, who appeared to be highly agitated. The man violently resisted arrest and attempted to bite one police officer, but was eventually taken into custody, police said.
