Here's What We Know About Sidecar Doughnuts In Manhattan Beach

Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee will open a new location this summer in Manhattan Beach. The store will be the sixth Sidecar to open since 2013.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Manhattan Beach is getting closer to having a Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee in town. The made-from-scratch daily doughnut shop is set to open in Manhattan Village Shopping Center this summer in the new Village Shops and Plaza.

Using a warehouse-turned-test kitchen in Costa Mesa, a renovated 1959 Helm’s Bakery Truck, and unusual, fresh and fun ingredients, Sidecar got its start in 2013, according to its website. Doughnuts are crafted all day long and fried in small batches. Their doughnuts have received acclaim, including from the Food Network who included them on its Best Things I Ever Ate.

Sidecar also stores in Costa Mesa, Santa Monica, Del Mar and Torrance, and is opening a Los Angeles location on Fairfax and 3rd this month. They offer a Vegan Chocolate Truffle and the seasonal doughnuts Red Velvet, Cinnamon Rolls and Meyer Lemon. Their everyday menu [but there's nothing "everyday" about these doughnuts!] features Butter & Salt, Saigon Cinnamon Crumb, Old Fashion, Huckleberry, Celebration Cake, Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Maple Bacon, Vanilla Bean Glazed, and Choc-A-Lot. Apple Fritters are available on Fridays.
