MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Urban Plates is opening a new Manhattan Beach location next Monday, November 25.

This will be the eighteenth location for Urban Plates, a fast-casual restaurant that serves made-from-scratch meals using ethically-sourced ingredients, the press release said.

"Urban Plates was founded on the idea that real, nutritious food shouldn’t break the bank or be hard to come by," Urban Plates’ Head of Culinary Jim Cannon said. "We provide delicious, wholesome food made with ingredients you know, love, and can pronounce. We work with farmers, ranchers, and suppliers we trust and know our guests would trust, as well. We are thrilled to bring this mission to the Manhattan Beach neighborhood with our newest restaurant, while also doing good for the local community."

Urban Plates will continue its mission of "serving quality food at affordable prices, empowering guests to enjoy both wholesome and delicious food choices," Urban Plates said. The new location will debut with a #GoodIsServed social media campaign, inviting fans to share their “do good moments” this holiday season, as well as Thanksgiving Day meal deliveries for local first responders.

Urban Plates, which was founded in 2011, combines seasonal produce and the variety of a food marketplace. All menu items are prepared on-premise daily using fresh local produce; GMO-free antibiotic-free, and hormone-free, grass-fed and finished steak; line-caught tuna; sustainably sourced seafood; and humanely raised and sourced, cage-free, hormone-free chicken. Restaurant menus offer guests a variety of fresh seasonal salads and sandwiches, steak plates, grilled seafood, soups, sides and more, the press release said.

The restaurant is going to deliver 100 meals to local first responders on Thanksgiving Day, and for every Instagram post highlighting someone's own "do good moment" (tagging @UrbanPlates and hashtagging #GoodIsServed), the restaurant team will also donate a meal to the Torrance-based nonprofit, Volunteer Center. This local nonprofit addresses the South Bay community’s most urgent needs, from youth literacy to food scarcity. Urban Plates will donate up to 500 meals as part of this campaign, the press release said.
