MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.

From Nov. 7 to 13 there were:

  • 730 calls for service
  • 17 arrests
  • 12 traffic collisions
  • 43 crime reports taken

  • A staff member at a Manhattan Beach 7-Eleven called police after shoplifter at the convenience store shot flames into their face and fled. The employee told police that they noticed a woman stealing items before 3:21 a.m. and confronted her. In response to being confronted, the woman pointed an aerosol can at the employee's face and lit a lighter to create a large flame. The employee didn't sustain any injuries. According to police, the suspect took some food from the 7-Eleven.
