Suspect Busted For 2 Separate Crimes: Manhattan Beach Crime Summary

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.
From June 7 to 13 there were:
- 734 calls for service
- 16 arrests
- 21 traffic collisions
- 45 crime reports taken

- On June 8, a man reported his car was broken into in the El Porto parking lot while he was surfing. When he returned to his vehicle, he noticed that two cameras and credit cards were stolen.
- On June 9, MBPD responded to a home that was under construction after the homeowner found their front door, garage door and rear doors left open. Surveillance video showed an unknown suspect peering over the construction gate. The next day, police located the suspect and were able to recover property related to a commercial burglary that same day. The suspect was arrested without further incident, police said.
- On June 9, police were notified about a commercial burglary that occurred at Reliable Plant Service in the 1100 block of 8th Street. The business' lockbox containing keys was broken into and several items were stolen from the business, including a package and at least two iMac computers. The computers were recovered from the vehicle of the same suspect who was arrested for residential burglary earlier that day.
- On June 10, police responded to a robbery in the 100 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard. At that same time, officers responded to a disturbance call regarding a group of people harassing passersby. Officers were notified that those same suspects assaulted a group walking by and stole a necklace chain. The suspects were identified and arrested by detectives on June 11.
