MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.

From June 20 to 26 there were:

  • 775 calls for service
  • 15 arrests
  • 16 traffic collisions
  • 36 crime reports taken

  • On June 21, police responded to a report of a theft at Target at 1200 N. Sepulveda Blvd. According to MBPD, loss prevention recognized the suspect from a prior unreported theft that happened on June 14. Despite loss prevention's attempts to detain the suspect, the suspect left the store and was later found by MBPD in the 1100 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard. Police arrested the suspect and discovered they had multiple out-of-state warrants and were on probation.
  • Detectives working on an organized retail theft detail at Bevmo on June 21 were informed that a theft had just occurred. MBPD immediately arrested two suspects at the scene without incident.
  • On June 21, a resident reported to police that they had seen two suspects leaving his home while it was under construction. The homeowner left to go to the store and saw the suspects leave in a white vehicle. Officers found a hammer on the ground next to the broken back door. Nothing appeared to be missing from the home, the resident told police.
