MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.
From Dec. 12 to 18 there were:
- 763 calls for service
- 14 arrests
- 16 traffic collisions
- 40 crime reports taken

- At about 4:37 a.m. on Dec. 14, a MBPD officer pulled over a vehicle in the 1800 block of Rosecrans Avenue for vehicle code violations. During a search of the vehicle, the officer said they discovered tools believed to be used to steal catalytic converters. Both the driver and the passenger of the vehicle were arrested.
- A Tesla owner was mystified to find their car ransacked on Dec. 15. The victim told police they had no clue how the suspect got inside the car, but said they read online that thieves could break into Teslas using Wi-Fi amplifying devices. A set of house keys were stolen from inside.
- After parking their car overnight in their driveway in the 1500 block of Laurel Avenue on Dec. 14, a Manhattan Beach resident returned to find green slime spilled inside and their car keys missing. The car owner told police it was possible the car was unlocked overnight. No additional information was available.
