Veteran Manhattan Beach Police Honored As Officer Of The Year

Officer Michael Lynch was honored by MBPD Chief Eve Irvine at the Rotary Club of Manhattan Beach for his tireless work with the community.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA ― A 10-year veteran of the Manhattan Beach Police Department was named Officer of the Year on Tuesday by his fellow officers.

Officer Michael Lynch was honored by MBPD Chief Eve R. Irvine at the Rotary Club of Manhattan Beach for his tireless work with the community, MBPD Sgt. Tim Zins said. He is currently working patrol and has been a field training officer in the department for the past five years.

Lynch has been a member of the MBPD’s SWAT team and a member the of the South Bay Platoon for the past seven years. He is also on the department's force training team.

In addition to his official duties, Lynch also teaches at the at the department's Community Police Academy and participates annually in the Skechers Pier to Pier walk to raise money for the Skechers Foundation.
