This Week: Obama Visit, Free Concert, 405 Construction

Here are five things to start off your week in Marina del Rey:

1. President Obama plans to travel to Southern California on Tuesday to tape an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Obama will visit Phoenix on Tuesday to discuss his plans for boosting home ownership across the country and will then travel to Burbank for the taping, according to an official.
2. The free Marina del Rey Summer Concert Series continues on Thursday with a performance by the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony.The free concert begins at 7 p.m. in Burton Chace Park. 
3. Marina del Rey drivers headed to the Westside of Los Angeles should be ready for ongoing construction. With the Sunset Boulevard offramp closed, expect heavy traffic on Sepulveda Boulevard in the area. 
4. The Beach Eats food trucks return to Mothers Beach in Marina del Rey Thursday. For a full lineup of trucks, look for our article on Thursday. 
5. Scores of sailors will compete Wednesday in one of Marina del Rey's largest sailing events during the California Yacht Club's Sunset Sailing Series. Spectators can view the boats from Fisherman's Village beginning at 6 p.m.
