MARINA DEL REY, CA — The Los Angeles County Department of Health issued a warning to those who are planning to visit Mother's Beach in Marina Del Rey due to unsafe bacteria levels.

The City of Los Angeles, Environmental Monitoring Division collects samples one to five times a week from various sites year-round. On Tuesday the division found the ocean water at Mother's Beach, as well as Santa Monica Pier, exceeds the state standards for bacteria levels and may cause illness.

Signs cautioning the public will be up at the beaches. To view a map of the locations visit the LA County Department of Public Health website. The map will be updated when conditions change and the water is found to be safe to swim, surf and play in again.
