What's Up: Dog Shooting, City Council, Obama Arrives

Here are five things to start off your Tuesday in Marina del Rey:
- In regional news, an LAPD detective reportedly shot a dog outside of a Reseda home on Monday. The incident happens about a month after a Hawthorne police officer was caught on camera shooting a dog. Read the full story on HuffPost Los Angeles.
- The Los Angeles City Council will meet at 10 a.m.. The agenda includes a report on requesting an ordinance to require BB guns to be made in bright colors to differentiate them from actual firearms, and a motion to acquire surveillance cameras and video storage equipment for investigating illegal dumping incidents in the 14th District.
- President Barack Obama touched down in Los Angeles Tuesday afternoon and will depart Wednesday morning. Check out our photos of his arrival here.
- The United States Lifesaving Association's National Lifeguard Championships will begin at 8 a.m. at the Manhattan Beach Pier and will include lifeguards from all over Los Angeles and the county. The four-day event concludes Saturday.
- The National Weather Service predicts Wednesday will see cloudy skies in the morning that will eventually clear in the afternoon. The high in Marina del Rey will only reach 69 degrees with overnight lows in the lower 60s.
