Worker Killed In Industrial Accident; Pinned By Machinery: Police

BRENTWOOD, CA — A worker died Monday after he was pinned by a large piece of machinery while on the job in Brentwood, according to police.

Officers responded around 3:30 p.m. to the 3900 block of Walnut Boulevard for a report of an industrial accident, police said, adding the 54-year-old man died at the scene depite emergency personnel's attempts to save his life.

“At this time, the incident appears to be a tragic accident,” the Brentwood Police Department said in a Facebook post Tuesday. “No other individuals were injured.”

The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office and the state Division of Occupational Safety and Health are assisting with the ongoing investigation, according to police.
